APRIL'S ASTROLOGICAL JOURNEY
A CHANGE OF PACE
April’s energy is heightened and is one of the most significant months of 2024. As it holds powerful energies, which begin to change the pace of our direction.
MERCURY STATIONS RETROGRADE:
All the planets thus far have been in direct motion. Now we see Mercury stationing retrograde on April 2nd. Mercury first entered his shadow period on March 19th. A time where he begins to slow his pace. Things are more concentrated and focused on personal issues since he is in the sign of Aries. A verbal recognition of self. Here Mercury will seek out clarification as to whether our individual needs are being met. A review of our goals or aspirations, along with restructuring new projects or enterprises which have just begun in March. This would hold promises made or agreements which began to transpire from March 19th onward. Questioning, if they are meeting the needs of each individual parties.
Mercury will join with the Sun on April 11th. Shifting our perspectives. Finally stationing direct on April 26th. Moving out of his shadow on May 13th, 2024.
Mercury through his retrograde period makes two significant connections. Giving this retrograde period it’s signature markings. The first is the connection made between Chiron and Mercury. Mercury first connected with Chiron on March the 20th, just as he began his shadow period. There is a need to heal here. To verbally talk about our wounds, struggles or challenges. To straighten out or reach agreements that make us feel in alignment with our own goals. This first contact is the awareness of our wound. An event at this time, could trigger our deepest responses. Asking questions, “Why does this keep happening to me”. A problem could arise, igniting old karma to be released. Sometimes though generational connections or past lives.
When Mercury is in the retrograde phase. We review our innate responses. Identify and targeting our reactions to various stimuli. This can be the perfect time to self reflect upon how we are interacting with the world. How you are fitting in and if it reflects what is going on around you in the world. On the world stage, this can also re-ignite issues within groups or ethnic backgrounds of people. The struggle they have personally. That we each have a unique identity, yet some groups are not recognized as even existing. Here we are trying to change our behaviour as old patterns of reactions are activated. The second connection between Mercury and Chiron arrives on the 15th of April. Concessions could be made or formulated to try and give each of us the opportunity to be heard in our individuality. Examples of groups or group wounds joined together in unison as one individual are the Jews (World War 2) The Gaza people as one (conflicts through the years, persecution). Ukrainians or Russians, Canadians, or Americans. The Blacks, Caucasians, Japanese, Indigenous and the list goes on. We identify as self within a self group or origin which holds wounds. Witches fall under this self identification process.
The last connection of Mercury and Chiron arrives in direct motion once again on the 7th of May. Giving us the ability to implement our new findings. To change our path forward to be self aware of not only our own wounds but the wounds that others carry with them throughout history.
There is a real healing process going on here. We could see some inquiries into various people or individual groups who seem as though they have been targets or if they have been causing wounds to others. Since a conjunction begins a new cycle, we could have new wounds emerging here, that requires this review or behaviour that exists in our culture previously as acceptable. It no longer appears to be acceptable behaviour and it will seek rectification with Mercury’s contact with Chiron.
In addition, Mercury at the same time, will be bridging the gap between the past and the future, through his contact with the North Node and the Eclipse Season before us. Mercury’s close attention to details, will bring the documentation to move into the future with new ideologies or solutions to aid in the healing process. Chiron is where we are most vulnerable. The thing which can stop us in our tracts, and we fall to our knees. Yet, we are now on a new journey as the North Node instills upon us to move beyond these traumatic events and see new solutions. New doors are opening as old mantras are being released. This is sure to bring a new trend of self identification to people who have perhaps been victimized in the Pisces realms. New legislation or rules emerge.
Mercury will also join with Eris. This is a powerful connection. First beginning on March 26th in direct motion. This will compound the ever-growing mantra of inclusion, self identity, and the individual right to our sovereignty. New insights begin to manifest with a determination to right wrongs. Eris is an energy of discontent, due to being excluded from the mainstream. This can bring awareness of this discontent, producing chaos until new rules are implemented. Critical information can emerge which questions various protocols or patterns. Things begin to surface due to the Mercury retrograde of the actions of various individuals.
During the retrograde phase Mercury will join with Eris, exact on the Solar Eclipse of April 8th. This begins the review of how various things have been implemented for the recognition of individual rights. Bringing discord and discontent to the table. Something that was promised may not have been implemented, which can cause arguments, or various people taking to the streets in protests for the ability for individuals to express their perceived betrayal. Thoughts are more aggressive during this time, as old wounds are triggered and demands for justice are expressed. Issues especially around individual sovereignty and the right to exist and be heard is highly visible.
New rules and recognition can arise with the last past between the new perspectives emerging in society on May 11, 2024. New solutions can be radical in their approach, giving each identity their own right to govern their destiny. This can be within a group, ethnicity, religion or country, state or individual. The right to be heard and expressed. New rules for inclusion or liberation. We could expect rulings and laws pertaining to these rights. People are speaking out in bold aggressive ways to give voice to the single individual. This can also tap into enterprises or new business unfolding. This can also reflect individual rights of various states or provinces to exercise their own sovereignty within a country.
This Mercury retrograde can open gates. Determined to right wrongs and heal wounds. Creating new projects to begin, as we stand up for our own individuality and demand to be included.
SUPER NEW MOON; TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE
In the mix of breaking new paths. We also are in the mist of Eclipse Season. A time, of change. We have the Solar Eclipse arriving on April 8th. Which is the second in a series which began with the Full Moon on March 25th. This is a powerful Eclipse as it reaches totality across much of the eastern United States and Canada. Crossing its way down to Texas.
Eclipses are a bit unpredictable. They bring about life’s significant events. Pivotal points of change. Closing doors and opening new doors. In ancient times, a Solar Eclipse were considered detrimental. Ending the life of one leader and bringing another into view. Thus, we could see some changes in leadership. Especially for Canada as Ottawa is within the 80-90% totality.
Solar Eclipses are also times where many of us change direction. Depending on where the Eclipse lands within your own chart. This is also a New Moon, landing in the independent sign of Aries at the 19th degree. There is a huge stellium focused on Aries and the birth of something new. A pioneering spirit grab hold, launching new energy and interests. Aries energy can be forceful, competitive, and eager to set out new paths for enterprises or innovative ideas. We are ready to venture forth like the Fool in the Tarot deck. Taking the risk, and not really knowing where it will lead us. It’s ruler of Mars, seems to speak of a more compassionate, sympathetic energy. It’s connection to Saturn in Pisces can certainly bring things to a halt or hesitation before surging forward. Lacking direction as Mars inches closer to Saturn. Things will seem weird. Out of sorts or a little strange. There are visions and dreams that we will actively work to manifest into our reality. Courage to break new paths. Slicing through the smoke and mirrors of illusion.
This Eclipse holds a North Node energy. Which is indicative of new doors opening. It’s tied into the Mercury connection with Eris and the conjunction between the New Moon and Chiron is exact. This is all new energy. Perhaps a leader is emerging who recognizes the individual rights and how they have suffered under the vision of old leadership when Pluto was in Capricorn. Things begin to emerge, secrets perhaps surface. As we struggle to decipher the truth.
JUPITER CONJUNCT URANUS IN TAURUS:
The Awakening of this truth may arrive in or around April 20th. One of the major aspects of 2024, connects to give us a jolt of reality. Jupiter, the planet of magnification joins forces with Uranus’s electrifying energies. Of course, this can shock us into awareness of how far down the rabbit hole we have gone. How illusive or unrealistic things are. If it’s worth the effort to dig us out and what is the cost of such a venture. This connection also signals the beginning of forging a new path. Bringing with it, innovation, scientific breakthroughs. New technologies such as AI or computer advances. Uranus is also rebellious, seeking to free us & those who are oppressed. This could push many into the streets as protest erupt. A big push for freedom, independence as shocking awareness comes to light. This can accelerate an already precarious point in time. Leading to chaos, disruptions, or mayhem. Issues surrounding immigration, airline travel, court battles, financial dealings, banking or agricultural issues. Along with inflation, cost of living or challenges facing our exchange systems. We can also look to disruptions such as hacking or fraud. This triggers us to look once again to changing the systems. Venus is triggering the Solar Eclipse point of earlier in the month at the 19th degree of Aries. This may make us realize that we are responsible for our own journey, which could be surprising to us. Alone to fend for ourselves. Freedom chants will ring out. Breaking the silence. Systems fail, new technology emerges out of necessity, as we seek something of value to fill the void.
On the same day as Jupiter joins with Uranus, the Sun shifts into the sign of Taurus. Where we are drawn to finishing our tax returns. Looking to clean our yards and planting our gardens. Things begin to shoot forth from mother earth. The breezes are light, and April Showers bring May flowers. The Sun here puts a focus on our resources. What we value or deem worth the efforts. Financial issues and the cost of goods and services.
VENUS MOVES FROM ARIES TO TAURUS:
Venus moves from the sign of Aries on April 5th to entering her own sign of Taurus come the 29th. She is a bit more aggressive during her tour of Aries. There is a push to get involved with enthusiasm, but soon fizzles out or bored and wants to do something else. Making us inconsistent. We’re extremely competitive here. Perhaps a little demanding in our wants. Me, me, me chants. Things move at a fast pace with little adherence to loyalty.
When she moves into her home of Taurus, she lands with a thud. Stabilizing her emotions. Fixating on what she deems as important. Handing over her loyalty and trust. Focusing our attention on material items. Goods and services or trade agreements.
We have a Full Moon rising on April 23rd at 4 degrees of Scorpio. Making this a rather intense Moon. The Moon’s energy is not supported here, and we are challenged to control things effectively. The square to Pluto can bring up passionate issues around financial sharing, freedom, or independence. Along with stability issues or financial concerns. It will be hard to let go of things here. Determined to pull through with commitments. Secrets are revealed, which could transform our lives.
EVENTS:
The month is pivotal. Intense as it breaks away from the old traditional ways. Creating new pathways to unfold. Like we are at some sort of crossroads in life.
April 3rd brings Venus to join with Neptune. Creating a new vision. A dream begins to transpire which can be both magical and imaginary. A time to create art, music, theatre, or poetry.
April 8th: Brings the Total Solar Eclipse with a Supermoon New Moon energy. Things are overshadowed and other things come to the forefront. The Sun and Moon will join Chiron. Seeing our wounds in a new light as we seek self healing.
April 10th: Mars will join Saturn in the sign of Pisces. This can push us to bring our dreams into reality. Yet, we don’t really know where the boundaries are. A fight could ensue for a distinction of these boundaries. This requires dedication, hard work with the resources to pull things through. Its just in the infancy stage. Just being developed, yet our imaginations can see it clearly.
April 11th: Through Mercury’s retrograde station he joins with the Sun, burning up old mantra’s of though. New conversations arise as our interest shift. This is a good day to set goals or ambitions. We may need to redirect and go at things from a different angle.
April 15th: Mercury makes his second pass with Chiron. Verbally expressing ways to heal our wounds. Seeing things through a new light of conversation. Focusing on our own issues for resolution.
April 17th: Venus joins the North Node. Enlightening our path forward as doors begin to open. Trends may change here with new fashion designs, makeup, or jewelry. New friendships or partnerships can be formed. A sense of being at the right place at the right time.
April 19th: Mercury joins with Venus prompting us to express our desires. Proposals or promises are made to loved ones. Agreements struck within financial matters. It can be lucky or that good news prevails. Lifting one’s spirits.
April 20th: Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Taurus. This is enlightening as we awaken to a new reality. Things begin to shift as we envision a new future. New technologies, scientific breakthroughs change our course.
April 21st: Venus joins with Chiron, prompting a sense of wellness or wellbeing. Due to the benefits of Venus igniting Chiron’s ability to recreate self sufficiency. Investment in individual rights.
The Sun also squares Pluto here, which can cause upsets or expose various leaders. Digging out the dirt of various activities. This can produce power struggles. Controlling issues which are domineering, aggressive and challenging.
April 26th: Mercury stations direct.
April 29th: Mars joins Neptune, which can create situations that are deceptive by the very nature of the activity. Things can seem weird or strange. One would need to be aware of activities or issues of betrayal. People doing things behind your back.
It’s an exciting time we live in. As new paths unfold, we once again begin to embrace new ideologies, trends, and ways of doing things. We are focused upon our own journeys this month. Where we fit in and what is best for ourselves in the whole scheme of things.
It’s a month of moving past our wounds. Standing our own ground yet feeling motivated to feel for others in precarious situations. We are evolving through new technologies. Being enlightened of what we desire and what our truth is.
