Stormy Days
This month brings a ripening of the season. As the crops turn to golden hues, reflective of the Sun’s rays. We can taste the shifts happening as we peak in our summer frolicking to think about agenda’s yet to come. The wind changes direction and the animals begin to prepare as chicks fall from nests and the world leaps forward an inch.
This is a stormy month with the astrological journey. Forcing us to contend with our lives. Things are changing along the corridor of life. The air element begins to seize us, lifting us higher into new vortexes of enlightenment. There is much to talk about as new information flies in the face of reason ability until we enter Virgo’s sorting energies.
The month opens as we rest in the heart of the lion, opening the Lion’s Gate Portal from July 26th to August 12th. The exact opening arising on August 8th. This occurrence happens every year, when the Earth, Sirius, Orion and the Sun align. Creating a type of Eclipse energy as the doors of heaven swing open once again. This is an excellent time to align your own heart centre to figure out what you desire for future goals or aspirations. Sirius is one of the brightest stars in the universe. According to Bernadette Brady he is one of Orion’s Hunting Dogs. Guarding the gates of Life and Death. Whereby we need to devote ourselves to a cause which could take a sacrifice to accomplish. Orion is a constellation with a large group of stars situated within. Facing the charge of Taurus the Bull and in pursuit of the Pleiades sisters.
This can be a moment when we discover our passions. In hot pursuit of several goals forming. This require dedications through our attention to what needs to be done to accomplish our aims. It can be a lucky period for some as the doors swing open to bring in fresh new energy or new pathways to proceed forward. Pay attention to the journey as you seek success, but being cautious that we don’t just have your own agenda’s in mind. Least you fall under disappointment.
As the gates open within our journey through the sign of Leo. We seek to create something of value. Integrating ourselves into the fabric of life’s social spheres. Perhaps leading the charge as we exercise our own identity of self recognition. A time to stand tall in your own energy and heart base.
Venus now in Leo, pushes our desires as we open August, where we’d rather be out and about connecting with others. We are seeking love, companionship and perhaps partnerships in our aims to reach our goals. She soon connects with Uranus on the 2nd of August with the party ending suddenly. Disrupting our path as things begin to break up.
Sudden shifts can arise as we need more freedom from control or the restraints we’ve been under. New realities signal illusions to shatter. Altering our perceptions and forcing us to make the necessary adjustments. Financial situations can be in a state of chaos or the feeling that something needs to change.
Venus enters the sorting stage of Virgo by the New Moon’s light on August 5th, 2024. Making us realize we need to sort out our relationships. The energy shifts to be rather critical and nit-picking over the mildest of responses. It’s important that we seek to perfect ourselves here. Acting in the most scrupulous manner, as it will be difficult to please others. We are discontent with loved ones and it’s difficult for them to please us. The demand for perfection increases. There is a discerning eye for detail and what is being said. Although this is a good energy to put our affairs in order, paying attention to every word spoken in the sentence. We can’t do enough to be of service. Catching our mistakes through detailed analyzes. She remains here until the 29th of August.
The New Moon arrives August 4thth. In the sign of Leo at the 12th degree. Setting down new seeds of creativity. Leo is the sign of confidence. Standing strong in our leadership. Ruled by the Sun, highlighting we are our own kings within the halls of our court. We can dominate with strength and courage. A guiding hand to how we integrate ourselves within our lives. We stand on the stage of life at this point. Eager to be recognized and counted for our achievements. This is about power and leaders of the world. Along with royalty, so expect some shifts happening there. Leo is a dynamic sign, which loves to socialize, yet feels assured of self and can go it alone. This is a good Moon to set some goals for yourself and to aspire to greatness even in the smallest of tasks. The sextile to Jupiter will bring optimism and increase our energetic power. There is much talk here and increased activity. Lots of invitations and possibilities arising. New conversations are about to begin. Social media also is highlighted along with news and gossip. Expect the hot weather to continue. Mercury the ruler of Jupiter in Gemini, is now stationing. Slowing things down, yet Jupiter is seeking to ramp them up. It’s a good moon to consider things carefully prior to making decisions due to the Mercury stationing.
We are setting the stage early in the month for what begins to transpire mid-month. Mercury now in her own sign of Virgo has been slowing down since July 17th, at the 21st degree in her preparation to station retrograde. She stations retrograde on August 5th, in alignment with the New Moon and Venus entry into Virgo. Mercury will make 3 square aspects to Uranus through her journey. The first occurred on July 21st. at the Full Moon in Capricorn. Bringing a shocking end to some affair or leadership. This reverse action always brings a review of past events. This is also a very accident-prone time with weird conversations and exaggerations with too much gossip as we socialize. We are re-directed currently with abrupt shifts in energy. Increasing popularity one minute to downward slides the next. Surprising news is attached to this retrograde and since it encompasses part of Virgo, it leaves us trying to sort through the details. It’s got lots of twists and turns in the plot with a restless energy to compete as we push ourselves up onto our own soap boxes to express our opinions. We’re pushing the edges of rebellious propaganda causing some social unrest. We are inspired to ratify our objectives and fight for what we aspire to attain. Mercury will square Uranus again on August 19th and September 6th. From the 5th to the 15th of August, we are making decisions based on the details. Trying to organize our thoughts in a cohesive manner, but critical of other’s moves or perspectives. This is an important time to clarify what you are meaning or saying as we head into the stormy mid-month period. Expect sudden storms, travel disruptions, difficulties with leaders of the world, airline problems or electrical and internet difficulties.
Mercury joins with Venus: Jupiter sesquiquadrate Pluto: by the 7th. Allowing us to smooth over problems within relationships. The financial ups and downs earlier seem to come together in some sort of resolution. Setting the stage for new connections to be made.
The Jupiter connection with Pluto is a long-standing aspect, which will lead us into 2025. Tensions build due to inconsistencies between what is said and perhaps who is saying it. Especially with those in positions of power and control. It boarders on lies to hide something. This could be a point of karmic energy if it is found. Interpretations of the effects can cause the legal system to step in. Solid decisions can help to mediate the difficulties. Things are overly exaggerated and groups of people in society can be challenging these ideologies. This aspect will emerge again on Dec 13 and April 17, 2025.
Mars enters August in the agile sign of Gemini. Ruled by the Mercury stationing and review of what we express outward to others and the world. Mars in Gemini is a busy energy. Active with the written word, social media platforms, news media or events taking place. It’s full of gossip and we must be cautious in August that we don’t express something or do something which causes us to back track as we worm our way out of things. It would be good to take responsibility if possible and to mind your own business. Lest you fall into some trap or get caught in some lies.
Mars plays into the events transpiring mid-month. Loud music is playing but we are out of key, screeching along. There seems to be a lack of direction, as we scatter our energy in various directions.
Jupiter Square Saturn: August 19th.
The new journey we embarked on as Jupiter joined with Saturn on December 20, 2020. Released us from the earth element of hard work, material gains and reaching leadership status. We embarked within the journey of the Air energy of thought, insight and equality issues. Rising to meet the challenge before us through logical thinking and new technologies.
As August opens with review and hesitation. We enter the stormy weather by mid-month with Jupiter now at his quarter phase with Saturn. Making his first connection at the crossroads by the 19th of August. It’s rather precarious energy as both planets are associated with world social events. This now sets the correction phase to begin with the Waxing Quarter phase between these two planets. Jupiter is in the chatty talkative sign of Gemini. Which aligns with the Aquarius energy when the cycle began in 2020. There is an eagerness to express our thoughts, but we can struggle with too many opinions and end up all talking at the same time. Some of us can be making our sales pitch, eager to sell our talents or wares. There are lots of agreements or negotiations. Saturn on the other hand is in the illusive sign of Pisces. Having trouble setting boundaries and giving benefit of the doubt. Yet, it can solidify and strengthen our faith in the impossible Often creating structure within our belief systems, which can leave us rather fixed or a feeling of being stuck in situations. Situations can be extreme, and then vanish before our eyes. Suddenly swept under the rug.
This square can cause disruptions by producing a lack of cohesiveness due to confusing stalls or blockages. Especially with communication or understanding within our verbal responses. We are suspicious of motives. Jupiter wants to expand the topics and Saturn now seeks to make sense of it all, even if it seems bizarre. Everyone is talking at the same time, and nobody knows what is being said. Nobody is really listening, except to pieces of things.
NOTE: Since Mercury is retrograde, it makes it doubly worse to figure out what the heck is going on.
Pure trust can be initiated with handshake deals to hurry up and get things done. We need to watch for hacking and scams. People taking off with items or scripts that don’t belong to them. Plagiarism and high jacking of various forms of information is likely. Ironically especially within the spiritual world. It’s a race against time to get your information out there. Computer problems or internet problems are likely this month. Expect breakdowns or a slow down in things to get sorted out. Too much clutter or debris which results in confusion or chaos. There is a fear of recklessness or losing control of things. The accelerated pace is attempted to be controlled or slowed down but it’s difficult as it gets put aside and forgotten until one reaches an impasse and ends up in the courts. The stories are mixed up and likely people in positions of authority are hiding away in some sort of deception.
This can cause disruptions to the financial systems, trade systems, shipping and distribution of goods and services. Educational disputes, travel and infrastructure issues. Immigration policies can struggle. Leaders seem confused or lack direction and cohesiveness. The mail system or parcel disruptions. It’s stormy weather with problems with wind and water. Airlines can be challenged as well as Mercury squares Uranus for it’s second pass.
HEADING INTO THE STORM:
The highlights above really foretell of activities and energies prevailing in the cosmos during the August month.
AUGUST 5TH: As mentioned above, we have Venus entering the sign of Virgo. A very critical intolerant position for Venus. Mercury then stations retrograde in his home sign of Virgo, after his first of three squares to Uranus happened at the precarious Full Moon on July 21st. Leaving the president of the United States to resign due to what appears to be confusion in thinking and leadership (Saturn in Pisces). The New Moon rises in Leo, in the sign of Royalty and leaders on August 4th. Highlighting a persuasive new style of communication and new topics to emerge.
AUGUST 10TH: SUN INCONJUNCT SATURN:
From this point forward, we are in the heart of the Jupiter waxing square with Saturn. The Sun’s adjustment to the new parameters set forth by Saturn are being highlighted. We could see some shifts or changes arising as we set new goals or aspirations. New platforms of information are emerging, which can seem far fetched or out of scope of reality.
AUGUST 14TH: MERCURY INCONJUNCT PLUTO JUST AS MARS JOINS JUPITER:
Pluto is newly in Aquarius, back at the 00-degree mark which is the initiative point in his newfound friendship. Both Mercury and Pluto are retrograde. Reviewing issues which have already arisen. News coming forth at this time can be from the past. Uncovered information which could be detrimental as the truth is revealed. Humanitarian issues could be highlighted, or groups of people being affected by some oppressive force. News media will be digging here. The Mars connection with Jupiter is dynamic. Certainly, telling us to do what we say, least you become a liar. This is a fast-paced energy with slanderous affects if used in the wrong manner, and people will act upon what they hear. We are passionate about what our opinions are. Fighting to be right, which can produce some arguments. New topics of conversation arise, ramping up our belief systems to a fevered pitch. New initiatives related to court proceedings or the law. New laws or regulations can be forthcoming.
AUGUST 15TH: MERCURY INCONJUNCT NEPTUNE; SUN TRINE CHIRON:
There is a sense of ignoring issues. Avoiding things are we pretend that nothing is wrong. As above we really don’t know what to do with the information we are receiving. Hitting a stalemate of indecision. With the Sun connection to Chiron, we can be covering over things and seeking resolution for healing issues as we try to resolve things.
AUGUST 16TH: MARS SQUARE SATURN; NEPTUNE SEXTILE PLUTO.
Mars is still on top of Jupiter, igniting a lot of gossipy innuendo's and a need to act on one’s belief system. There is a crusade feeling. Saturn now is attempting to control things, often through covert means or behind the scenes actions. Mars says proceed and Saturn says stop, so it’s a battle to get though the information at hand and to try and convince someone of its authenticity. Trying to prove something is made difficult here, even if the evidence says so. People are out of sorts and prone to say things which are not acceptable. There is resentment and frustrations. Blockages or interference which seems bizarre or strange. It’s advisable not to trust what others are saying or doing. The danger arrives when we try to push the situation beyond its capabilities causing accidents or rash behaviours or speeches.
Neptune sextile Pluto has been moving in and out of our realms for many years now. This gives us the ability to change our perspectives and how we view the world. Rearranging the pieces and ridding ourselves of old outworn materials, which are less than inspirational. Leaving room for new insights, beliefs systems and the ability to create our own worlds through manifestation. Opening a door for resolution.
AUGUST 18TH, MERCURY SQUARE URANUS (2). SUN CONJUNCT MERCURY
This is a spin off from the events from around the Full Moon of July 21st. Really signalling the end of an era. It’s rather nostalgic in some sense as we review the events from July’s fall out at the Full Moon. Perhaps the sudden departure of President Biden or the attempted assassination of President Trump. New revelations could be unfolding. It’s not a good time to travel since there is such volatility in the air. Sudden revelations can be unfolding which are shocking in nature with unexpected twists and turns. Old information is arriving.
The Sun’s conjunction to Mercury retrograde, attempts to find resolutions to various problems, especially with the square to Uranus. A new diversion is being created to distract us from the intentions put forth. It’s a good idea to be completely awake in life.
AUGUST 19TH: VENUS FORMS A T-SQUARE BETWEEN JUPITER’S SQUARE TO SATURN (EXACT). SUN SQUARE URANUS (MERCURY). FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS: WOW WHAT A LINE UP!
This is a pivotal point in time. When we are at the crossroads with Jupiter’s square to Saturn. It can be rather tenuous with stormy weather prevailing within society. Expansion of society has gone too quickly, and Saturn seeks to slow it down. These are times of harsh realities. It’s made even more difficult due to the T-Square with Venus. Signalling some potential problems within the financial sectors. Venus in this precarious place in Virgo can be extremely critical and negative. Blaming others for their own difficulties and avoiding taking responsibility. Facts can be distorted or over exaggerated. Relationships are under pressure and the working class can be under stress financially causing breakups and difficulties. Things are out of control as people are spending without realizing the consequences of their actions or behaviours and then hiding the information. Things can shut down here as we try to worm our way out of our own lack of foresight.
Jupiter square Saturn: This indicates a correction needs to be taken. Business ventures or financial affairs are challenging. Lost fortunes or opportunities. Don’t believe anything you hear, there are lots of rumours, which perhaps are put out there on purpose. Things get over blown and we get confused by the mix ups as nobody wants to take responsibility. Things are out of hand. A big news event could be taking place. As a result restrictions or limitations could be taking place.
Full Moon in Aquarius:
Aquarius is a liberating sign. Seeking to separate itself from the pack and yet be included in the pack in some way. Such is the internet, apart yet connected. It likes community and seeks the well fair of the group at large. It’s rather unusual. A little bohemian or hippy. Knowing lots of people and yet, not really knowing anyone personally. Issues surrounding the environment, social well fair, inclusion and fairness are highlighted with this energy. It doesn’t like to be pinned down and likes to come and go as it pleases. Community gatherings or large groups of people can be involved with this Full Moon. It’s under stress, in that it lacks planning or strategy. It’s in direct square to Uranus and opposition to Mercury retrograde. Causing a grand struggle for freedom and equality. Looking to liberate a group of people or free someone. Issues surrounding reporters in foreign countries could be negotiated at this time. It’s a difficult Moon, as the people challenge those in positions of authority or leadership. It’s volatile, chaotic and unpredictable. Venus is in her opposition to Saturn and square to both Mars and Jupiter. Fighting for some sort of belief or spoken chant demonstrated as truth. Clamping down on this zealous action. This is dynamite energy.
AUGUST 22ND. VENUS SQUARE MARS
This is rather personal and is difficult to contend with. Mars in the unrelenting sign of Gemini, always changing directions causes the tranquility of Venus and the precision of Virgo to be upending in attempting to find solutions to the aggressive verbal action ensuing. This is a verbal threat. Manipulation and strategy come into play as the saga stemming from the beginning of the month prevail. Chances are we are having some problems with loved ones. We are emotionally sensitive to criticism.
As we roll through the month, we come to realize the reality of things. We finish off the month in a need to act, get assistance from others even if things seem a tad bizarre.
AUGUST 24TH: MERCURY SEXTILE MARS AND MARS SEXTILE CHIRON.
There is a lot of thinking going on by this juncture to heal or resolve old wounds or ways of reacting to various verbal stimulation. Decisions are of prime importance now, and how we proceed forward will tell the story of how our paths move forward from here. A plan of action is emerging with some good strategies to move forward.
AUGUST 27/28/29. VENUS TRINES URANUS: OPPOSES NEPTUNE AND TRINE PLUTO AS SHE MOVES INTO THE SIGN OF LIBRA.
Just before Venus shifts into her own sign of Libra, she makes some important connections. First to Uranus, which is a very positive motivating energy. Pleasant surprises and support coming from various relationships can be motivating and inspirational. Some of us may have turned a corner and eager to connect with new people coming into our lives. Our shifts in values change as we break free from old ways of dealing with items.
Venus then opposes Neptune, making us hesitate in knowing what we truly desire. A bit of buyer’s remorse could be setting in, if you unexpectedly purchase something recently. There is a need to just enjoy life, rather than work. There is a bit of confusion arising, as we could be dealing with someone who is acting a bit bizarre lately.
Venus moves into her own sign of Libra come the 29th. Allowing us to enjoy the company of others and to express our likes and dislikes. We could be overly accommodating at this time, but eager to turn a corner when Venus’s trines Pluto, which changes everything as we fall deeper in line with our commitments.
AUGUST 29TH: MERCURY STATIONS DIRECT.
We are now back where we began on July 17th. Ready to proceed forward with events which were transpiring then. There is much transpiring and shifting in August. Keep your wits about you as you enter the crossroads.
