Sudden Shifts of Direction

This is a refreshing month. Filling our lungs with cool crisp air. It brings a spontaneity to life, as sudden shifts and changes appear. With all the planets beginning to make a turn around into direct motion. All things begin to point to a new course being set for 2023. The sails begin to rise as the winds pick up to push us forwards once again.

We begin the New Year with two planets retrograde.

Mars has been in retrograde motion since October 30th, 2022. Stationing at the 25th degree of Gemini. This has given us a restless energy. Whereby it can seem as though we are rushing from one thing to the next and then repeating various tasks we’ve been doing. A never-ending stream of events. As though, we are trying to finish up things with little success. Mars is also out of bounds, which leads to extreme activities. This can be frustrating to say the least.

Compounding this energy results from Mercury also being in retrograde motion heading into January.

This planet rules the Mars retrograde energy. Giving things a heightened sense of urgency for completion, especially when it comes to business agreements. Yet, we need to reconsider the contracts or information before we give the rushed go ahead to proceed. Information is delayed or postponed, probably to no fault of your own, but due to the systems or structures governing the information stream. Various businesses could be restructuring how they move product or that product is delayed due to protocols. Travel delays continue to be front and center. A need to re-evaluate how you relay information within your own business could be crucial to moving forwards in the future.

Jupiter is also newly in Aries for the second time. Having traversed these degrees from May 11th to June 15th, of 2022. If you think back to this period, you could see some connections. This is a push to expand oneself and your motivations to create something fresh and exciting.

Uranus is also slow in motion. Preparing to station direct on the 23rd of Jan. This leads January to be a little spontaneous and unpredictable in nature. New breakthroughs, insights and changes in direction are likely. Sudden weather disruptions, delays with travel and problems with the electrical grid.

Welcome to 2023! Happy New Year.

Jan 1st: THE CHART OF JANUARY 1ST, sets up the energy for the entire year unfolding before us. It would seem as though there is positive energy between the powers that be and the people. New values are about to emerge, which could possibly be related to currencies, values and worth. Strategic planning requires dedication to an idea or thought of possibilities and a determination to carry it though. It gives me the sense of going it alone. Taking the risks and proving yourself to family or the established order such as banks. Both Mercury and Mars are retrograde, which can trip us up in our goals. Lacking both information and proper channels to get from point A to B. Venus is transformed by Pluto, which rules the Moon. Certainly, indicating changes are at hand within the banking systems and financial markets. We are committed though, regardless of the outcome.

Jan 2nd: VENUS INGRESS INTO AQUARIUS

This energy demonstrates a need for the unusual, especially within groups or relationships. It pushes us to explore our options. Seeking to revitalize our lives through the connection we have within groups or large social venues. There is a need to break free from the traditional ways. Opening ourselves up to short attractions which could be eccentric for most people. There are interests in alternative sources of energy, humanitarian issues and the environment. We can get fixated on a mission. Too stubborn to release our mantra’s if we are not careful. It’s hard to get committed to anything as our minds jump from one thing to the next.

MERCURY SEXTILES NEPTUNE: Second pass: 1st: Dec 24th, 2022.

If you have been writing a journal. Reflect on Christmas Eve in determining any ideas which began to manifest at that time. Mercury now retrograde reconnects with Neptune, stimulating possibilities. We may find that we are going over insightful ideas we had been thinking about implementing in December. This can change our minds or be talked into believing that our ideas are silly or not worth much. A sense of restructuring our motives and manifesting new thoughts. The imagination is very creative. This is the start of beginning a new structured plan. Talk of agreements within various religious sectors.

Jan 4th: VENUS SEXTILES JUPITER

Venus newly in Aquarius, joins with Jupiter newly in Aries for the second time. This can create big opportunities, invitations, or gains. Especially for those Aries born or Aquarius born individuals. Social invitations are indicated with good fortune arriving. There is a large amount of optimism. Then perhaps too much spending.

Jan 5th: SUN TRINE URANUS

There is a strong need to break from our routines and try something new. This is a very insightful energy. Lending itself towards seeking the unusual. Insight is high, as we peer into future endeavors. There is a feeling of excitement, as we view new possibilities. Expect some new breakthroughs in science or space exploration. If you are feeling stuck, this is a good time to rid yourself of anything that is holding you back.

Jan 6th: FULL MOON @ 16 degrees of Cancer:

This is the 3rd Full Moon at the 16th degree of a sign. This Moon brings awareness to family concerns. Property values or land dealings. Connections to lineage or ancestry. It’s sensitive, but the Moon favors her own sign of Cancer. Giving us a heightened sense of intuitive abilities. Things are emotional here giving us great insight due to the trine to Neptune. The Sun and Mercury are close to their inferior conjunction. Leading us to believe it’s time to let go of a belief system that has run its course. There seems to be cooperation available, but outside the normal routes. You may run into someone who can be of assistance. Old wounds surface to be resolved on an inner level as the Full Moon creates a T-square with Chiron. We just may not see it fully. Take the time to get together with family. Attend household matters, either selling or renovating. Cook a good meal.

Jan 7th: MERCURY CONJUNCT SUN: Inferior conjunction

This is when Mercury is positioned between the Sun and Earth. This can begin to burn up old ways of thinking about business due to Mercury’s retrograde station. Freeing us up to create new opportunities to emerge. The need to rise to some sort of status is less important with Mercury retro in Capricorn. Giving us the chance to begin to rebuild new structures as we move to dismantle the old structures that have governed us for a long time in the earth element of existence. This can create a turning point where we can now create anew.

Jan 8th: MERCURY TRINE URANUS: 2nd pass: 1st occurred on Dec 17th, 2022.

Mercury remains in retrograde station, having transverse these degrees on the 17th and 18th of December. Mercury is the lower octave of Uranus, whereby Uranus brings the information to a new level of thinking. Sparking inventions and innovations to emerge. New discoveries in science, especially with electricity are likely. This could be linked to fusion development. In addition, space exploration and new discoveries are likely. The thinking cap is off with new possibilities cropping up everywhere. Expect some things to emerge for you personally if you were on the verge of coming into view with some project or social media campaign. There is a propensity for research or investigation. Interests in the occult or astrology are highlighted.

Jan 9th: VENUS TRINE MARS:

This begins the process of creating a new cycle for the lovers of the zodiac. Energizing new partnerships and connections into existence. Mars remains retro though, so an old partnership isn’t quite finished with, and you could find you are venturing on a new path with them. New beginnings are indicated. A new conversation is ignited.

Jan 13th: MARS STATIONS DIRECT @ 8 DEGREES OF GEMINI:

This is a big deal, as Mars has been traveling through Gemini since August 2022. He hit 8 degrees of this sign on the 4th & 5th of September. He sits at 8 degrees in January from the 1st to the 24th. Highlighting this degree as significant. Mars in Gemini can be erratic in thought when retrograde. Producing inconsistency in answers or in making up our minds about a course of action we are taking shifts constantly. This degree is conjunct the Royal Star of Aldebaran. The watcher of the East. There is the courage for war according to William Lilly. Giving honors, popularity, and integrity. Agitation and war mongering, which is risky and out of character for some. This also highlights flu’s, pneumonias, or infections of the lungs with high fevers. Watch for accidents around this time. Mars is moving slowly, strengthening his resolve to push for what he deems to be right action.

SUN SEXTILE NEPTUNE:

Here we find glamorous ideologies. Wishing ourselves to be somewhere other then where we are. This is an opportunity to delve into various practices of spirituality. Meditations or to hit the spa for a little R&R. It’s a dreamy sort of aspect whereby we have our heads in the clouds. Creating some new venture for ourselves. Full of mysticism and the occult. Religious ideas surface and we are susceptible to others influencing us. Making us believe in the impossible. Make a vision board.

Jan 14th: VENUS SQUARE URANUS:

Attraction is highlighted here. Mostly to the unusual or an odd interest. These are often sudden infatuation rather then lasting connections. It’s most enlightening though, as you could feel yourself swept away on some unusual quest. Don’t be naïve though, least you find yourself in a precarious situation, which ends up on a dead-end street. It’s a risk you’ll be taking, so watch you don’t fall into bed with the wrong partner. Resistance here is often futile and if you wish to attain the golden ring, you may find too many obstacles or sudden surprises to suit your fancy. Nervousness.

Jan 17th: MERCURY INCONJUNCT MARS: 2nd pass: 1st on Dec 16th, 2022.

This is rather frustrating as resolutions do not come easily. This aspect can cause difficulties that are not easily resolved. Perhaps you know what needs to be done, but with Mercury in retrograde, whatever arose in mid December is being rehashed. Trying to take a course of action that will alleviate the tensions. However, there are too many blockages to go through. Various protocols within government agencies can be stopping progress. This reminds me of paperwork. Such as Visa’s, immigration issues or applications for things. Stalls.

Jan 18th: SUN CONJUNCT PLUTO:

A change of direction seems imminent. This is a very intense new cycle beginning in relation to control & power within governments or leadership. A new leader may emerge at this time, due to the freshness of energy. There is an ability to seize control due to a strong penetrating determined energy. Manifestation is strong at this juncture. An ability to create something real and structured within your life. Start a new business. Evolve with the changing times. Transform and find strong realistic pursuits.

Jan 19th: MERCURY STATIONS DIRECT AT 8 DEGREES OF Capricorn:

Mercury resided at 8 degrees of Capricorn on Dec 12th, 2022. Any delays begin to move forward at this juncture. The lost is once again found. Like luggage. Especially with relevant information that was highlighted in December. There is a seriousness to things as Capricorn would indicate. Decisions of some magnitude can be moving forward. Agreements or negotiations that have been stalled are ready to be pushed through. Governments or corporations give the go ahead. Inquests or reviews are concluding.

Jan 20th: SUN INGRESS INTO AQUARIUS:

We are now entering the middle of winter in the northern hemisphere. It’s a fixed energy, which can limit our ability to see things from differing point of view. Although there is a strong need to break away from routine and try something different.

Jan 21st: NEW MOON @ 1 DEGREE OF AQUARIUS:

This is the 3rd New Moon arising at the 1st degree of the sign. This brings a freshness to things. Embarking on a new venture. Pushing us out of our winter blues. The Moon’s energy is just past Pluto’s connection, introducing a revitalization to things. The out of sign sextile to Neptune wonders if it’s possible, yet somehow the ruler Uranus says it is as Mercury approaches his 3rd connection with each other. Anything is possible with this Moon. A watch me kind of attitude prevails pushing us towards possibilities we didn’t see before now. Venus is joined with Saturn, ready to invest in the future and build what we have seen in our visions.

Jan 22nd: VENUS CONJUNCT SATURN:

Oh, the seriousness of it all. This signals the beginning of a commitment. New investments could be made in futuristic endeavors, environmental structures or ventures, and humanitarian aid. This new cycle between Venus and Saturn, sets the tone for the upcoming year. The arts and creative ventures emerge with a depth and precision. New fashions, trends or love emerges that gives form to our existence. After all what would we do with out Venus. There is a need for justice or fairness in all dealings. A desire to be considered seriously, while taking a different approach to how we style our affairs.

Jan 23rd: URANUS STATIONS DIRECT @ 15 DEGREES OF TAURUS:

Well, isn’t this a relief. ALL PLANETS ARE NOW MOVING IN FORWARD MOTION. LET’S GET GOING SHALL WE! Uranus is the electrifying planets that rotates on his side. He brings out the best in us by tapping into our desire for change. Moving us to abruptly pick up stakes and move on. A restlessness about his energy seeks to see the best qualities both in ourselves and others. This can be a very disruptive month, as he is slowed all month until he stations. His actions push us to awareness. Waking us up from our deep slumbers. Forcing us to recognize things we’d otherwise ignore. We always want something different then what we have. It’s wise to appreciate and be grateful this month. Lest you find yourself in a precarious situation and wish you were back from whence you came. Disruptions will continue to air travel. Problems to the electrical grid. Probably sudden storms, so pack a survival kit, even if you live in the city. Sudden events can bring things to a halt.

Jan 27th: VENUS INGRESS INTO PISCES:

Venus loves the magical energy of Pisces. Swimming around in a pool of creative possibilities suits her just fine. Absorbing ourselves in a daydream of colors, which influence our mood. This is where we believe in the magic of love, and anything is possible. This is a very psychic energy, bringing us in strong connection to spiritual essences. Ever the romantic, which raises our expectations. Which can also bring us down fast into loneliness or disappointment. Watch for increases in diseases or the spread of such elements. Get a check up. Delve into the arts, music or get to the ocean. Take long deep baths. Converse with the muses and be inspired.

Jan 29th: SUN TRINE MARS:
As we come to the end of January, we are hit with a very motivating energy. The push we’ve been feeling to wrap things up, get going and begin our ventures finally pushes us out the door. It’s refreshing as we don’t wish to wait any longer. This is full of leadership, willpower, and courage. Allowing us to be competitive in our pursuits of our desires. It lights us with motivation, inspiration, and fire. Expect a lot of ideas to be forthcoming.
